Full Moon Night

A few days back when I was in my village, an incident took place which left goosebumps over my skin. And everything was normal except that day. Like always I and my cousin Laxmi go to the fields for walk and eat berries, sit near pond and talk for hours. Yes, she was talkative and I was an introvert who listened to her gossips about her college life. It was getting darker in evening. I had to return home so told her to go back. But she told that she had to collect the jaggery from side village so she will come later.

I came back alone as the pond where we went to was very near to that of our house. But after I came, Laxmi returned very late without any jaggery. She was scolded by grandfather for sitting near pond in dark. And was quiet for that night. We both slept in same room and that night she woke up and sat murmuring something. When I asked "What happened?", She slept again. In the morning she was found in stairs weeping and screaming "I will not forgive anyone what has been done to me, I will take revenge". With these words she was unconsious. It lasted for 2-3 days and the abmornal behaviour was accompanied by shouting names that did exist in the village.

It was the spirit of Sukanti who was dead! She has gone through domestic violence and was treated very badly. She also had kids who were very so small that they don't remember her face after she died. It is said that she committed suicide as she couldnt resist the pressure and harasment for dowry. And her body was burnt at the other side of pond where her spirit wanders in darkness. It is said Laxmi was possesed by spirit of Sukanti and that spirit left after the back magic was carried out in full moon night.
