EMPTINESS: INTROSPECTION

Have you ever felt like there is something missing? You ignore the feeling, until you get used to it. You try to live with the feeling all your life, of the feeling that a piece of you is missing. You know it all along what you crave but you never had the courage to accept it.

Have you felt something that you don’t want to accept? You want someone so badly to be at you side and give you a shoulder, to be with you when you feel low. When you don’t exactly want to cry, but feel like someone should listen to your insecurities and cheer you up.

Do you feel empty without knowing what is making it like that?

Do you drift apart from everyone and enjoy the solitude?

Do you dream of something you are unaware of?

Do you crave for a person who you are not even sure you ever met, even when you are with so many people who seem to care about you?

Why is that? Are you not contented with what you have?

Are you satisfied but still feel unsatisfied?

What is this feeling of emptiness when you don’t know who can fill it?

Do you need a friend or a family member or a lover or maybe a pet?

What is it? Do you really think that the person you are thinking about reading this is the person you need? Why do you need someone when you think everything you have is enough?

Is everything enough? Is it a human tendency to want more or is it something that you only feel because you think that everybody around you is pretty content?

Sometimes you mistake a person as the reason for your emptiness when maybe it’s an aim you need. Maybe you focus so much on your aim that you forget that there is emptiness for a person you never found. Then you suddenly stop and realize that you went too far in suppressing the feeling of emptiness that you left a lot behind while fighting those unwanted feelings.

What is this emptiness? Why is it generating so many questions? Is it only me or there are more people like this? When will this end? When will my mind and heart find peace?

I don’t know.

I don’t know why I have so many questions, but I know one thing, these questions will be answered with time.

The feeling of emptiness will go away once you realize that it wasn't really the emptiness that bothered you it was the fear of being and remaining alone.

You think that you need some other person to complete you or help you to complete yourself when the real deal is that you are complete individuals on your own. You don't really need someone for that, you want it. The inner selfishness of wanting everything leads to this emptiness.

Look again, look in the mirror, you’ll see that you are not alone, you have yourself.

I don't ask you to stay lonesome; I say that you don't need someone else to make you as happy as you can yourself, to make you feel complete.

I say that we are beautiful individuals who fear the fear itself. No other power can make us do anything we don’t want, not even make us empty. There are times to question ourselves but faith in oneself is what the key is.

So get up even if you fall, because only when the sun falls, the night rises. When you stand up again, the sun will shine above you erasing every bit of dark emptiness, guiding you to understand that we are not really empty.
