According to Indian mythologies and stories, a child is god’s reflection as they are pure and according to beliefs, a child can get everything they wish. This is a story of a 12 years old physically disabled boy PIYUSH who due to his medical conditions cannot go out, play and have a normal life like other normal people. His parents Arya and Prabhas work in an MNC and were not able to give time to him. He gets frustrated sitting in one room only. One day Sitting in his room he prays to god closing his eyes that he (god) give twin of him so that he can pass his time playing with him. His soul was pure as he was just 12 years old, that’s the reason his wish was fulfilled instantly. When he opened his eyes, he saw his twin sitting next to him and waving at him. Piyush was surprised and was not able to understand anything.
Piyush: Who are you?
Boy: I am you. no one can see me as I am your reflection.
Piyush: What do you mean? Am I dead?
Boy: No. I am just your reflection. Whenever you wish, I will come and play with you. Now you will not feel lonely because every evening I will come and play with you and no one can see me. Listening to this he got a big smile on his face but only for seconds and then became serious and asked very innocently, are you joking?
Boy: No, not at all. Believe me, I can help you with all your problems.
Adi- Grandpa now your life is sorted, and you can do and get whatever you want in your life?
Piyush- Life is not as easy as we see son.
Anisha- Means?
Piyush- Let me complete the story first, you will get all your answer.
Next day
Piyush (feeling bored): Oh god such a boring day. Let me confirm that it’s not my dream.
I am bored playing the same game and sitting in the same room.
Boy: Hey champ, which game do you want to play?
Piyush: Badminton and cricket.
Boy: Great choice. Close your eyes for five (5) minutes, your wish will be fulfilled.
Open your eyes and see what I bring for you.
Piyush: Wow, thank you.
Boy: Want anything else?
Piyush: Yes. A leg through which I can live a normal life.
Boy: Are you sure because if I give you this I cannot come to meet and play with you.
Piyush: Left it, no need. Let’s play these games.
Boy: Pass me the cock else service.
Piyush: I am doing the service.
At the end of the game, Piyush apologize for his reflection and told him the truth.
Boy(laugh): Now you believe?
Every day Piyush spends some quality time with his reflection and lives his life to the fullest. Arya and Prabhas were happy seeing their son living a happy life.
According to psychology, humans especially children are curious about what is going to happen further. In this queue, Piyush was thinking about what his future is going to be.
Boy: What happened? For the first time, I am seeing you silent.
Piyush: I want to see my future.
Boy: What?
Piyush: Yes, I want to see my future.
Boy: Are you mad?
Piyush: I don’t know anything. I just want to see my future.
Boy: But listen, once you see the future I can come and complete your one wish only.
Grandchildren- Then what did you decide Grandpa? It’s tough for you to make a decision.
Piyush-Yes, it’s very tough for me to make a decision. At one point I think if I see my future, I will lose, my friend but then I thought if I will not see my future my mind will only think of that.
Grandchildren- what did you do then?
Piyush- I decided to see my future with the thought that in my last wish, I will request him to be always with me.
Grandchildren- Great idea grandpa (excited).
Piyush- Yes it sounds great, but life rarely gives you 2nd chance.
Adi- Means?
Piyush- I saw my future and in that, I was in a coma and my age at that time is just sweet 16.
Adi- When you wished to see your future, what was your age?
Piyush- 14.
Seeing my future, I was upset and can’t enjoy any moment.
Anisha- Have you ever met your reflection from that day?
Piyush (cleaning his teary eyes): Yes. One day I decided to take my last wish from my reflection. On my 16th birthday, I asked him to complete my last wish.
Boy- Happy birthday brother.
Piyush- Hmm thank you.
Boy- What happened? What is hmm? What’s your last wish?
Piyush- I want to see my ancestors.
Boy- Mad or what?
Piyush- I don’t know I just want to see my ancestor.
Boy- I can’t do this. I have no right to do this.
Piyush- Then just leave me forever.
Boy- such a selfish person you are. You don’t deserve any help and happiness. You are not pure. Remember, you can never see me.
Adi- So rude. How can he say such harsh words to a 16 years old boy?
Piyush- Actually fault is mine. Sometimes we forget that our words can injure someone internally. Because of my words” You can leave me forever”, he left me and never came back to meet me.
After 2 days due to a stroke, I was in a coma. In a coma, I saw my reflection coming near me. Seeing him I opened my eyes and found myself in a hospital room. My mom told me that I was in a coma past 2 years. It took a year for me to completely recover. I was filled with guilt. Now I understood what I lost. I want to apologize for my attitude towards my reflection.
Anisha- How would you apologize for your attitude?
Piyush- Doll he was my reflection. He was inside me only and to apologize to him I make a decision.
Adi- what?
Piyush- I wrote about my journey from the start. Now I decided to publish my book DOUBLE UP.
Adi and Anisha tell me the moral of the story.
