Cursed Treasure Part : 1

It was the time of the night. Rain was falling with no limits. The noise of the car was breaking the Silence. Without caring about the rain, Ravi was driving joyfully by listening to songs inside the car. Not any tension, not fully conscious, he was just fully hypnotized by his songs. He was returning back to his village after 8 years. His village was still much farther. Ravi was enjoying it when suddenly his phone rang. Then Ravi looked towards his phone. He saw that his friend, Nath is calling. He turned off the car's audio player and picked up the call. Nath exclaimed happily, "Hey Ravi! What's up?"

"Hey, Nath! How are you?"

"Just staring at the Instagram reels from the last 2 hours. Thought that I must call you. Wait! Are you driving?"

"Yeah! Going to my village. Didn't I tell you that there is a plot of my grandpa which is barren for the last 5 years? I am going to sell it."

"I know! You told me about this last weekend. Well, any plan of staying there?"

"Yes! I will stay there until the plot sells. Then I will return."

"Oh! Then happy journey to you. And when you will come, bring village pots for me. I got to know that village pottery is much cheaper and more beautiful than the other ones."

"Ok! Ok! I will bring it. Bye!"

By saying this, he ended the call and kept his phone aside. After that, he started his audio player again. But in a couple of seconds, the player automatically turns off and the car stops. He was confused by this happening. He got out of the car to check what's the problem. When he looked underneath, he saw that the tire of his car got punctured. He shouted in rude behaviour, “Oh God! This tire had to be pincered now! Now where will I get the mechanic?". He was saying so that he thought of getting help by calling. But when he checked his phone, no signal was there.

"What! a Few minutes ago, the signal was just there!". He threw his phone cruelly inside the car. Ravi started getting angry. He kicked a stone next to him on the ground with aggressiveness. The stone went into the bushes in the forest next to the road and disappeared. Then Ravi noticed something in the darkness of the forest. Something was shining brightly forcing the darkness to hide. He sensed a feeling of something extraordinary there. He went inside the forest. That shining was getting bigger as he went nearer. When he reached it, he was shocked. He couldn't believe his eyes. A big golden chest with diamonds on the sides was there. The diamonds were shining like a star. Ravi was filled with excitement. Without waiting, he opened the chest. When the chest opened, he was completely surprised. His mouth remained wide open. He was full of happiness. The chest was full of golden coins. The light coming from the coins covered the whole forest with its shine. He was thinking that those coins are calling him. He was about to touch that he stopped. He had a feeling of doubt.

"If the chest is full of golden coins, then why someone left it in this jungle because they can't come here? Then why is it here?"

While Ravi was happy, he was also a bit doubtful and confused. He doesn't want to touch those coins because he has heard somewhere that this type of treasure has been cursed. He was thinking of returning from there, but he wouldn't. Because he had already opened the chest. He was thinking about it, and he got an idea. He went back and brought a pot full of Ganga Jal from his car. He poured some of it into his hand and threw it on the chest. There was no effect on the chest!

"Oh wow! I have heard that throwing Ganga Jal on the cursed thing will make it disappear but it doesn't. It means the chest is not cursed!"

There was a feeling of greed in his voice and a devilish smile on his face.

"Ha! Ha! Ha! I am rich now!"

By saying this, he sat in his car and checked his phone again. Now the signal was there.

"Oh! So, the signal comes only inside my car!"

He calls the mechanic for help and started waiting for him. He was still thinking of that treasure.

"I can't believe it! I found a treasure. Isn't it a dream?"

He was hypnotized by the dreams of the treasure.

After half an hour, the mechanic came.

"Hello, sir!"

Ravi woke up from his dream.

"Are you the mechanic?"

"Yes sir."

After hearing this, he started checking the tire as Ravi told him on phone. Ravi then got out of the car to check.

"Well, sir! Can I ask you something ?"

"Yeah!"

"What are you doing here at midnight?"

"Nothing! I was going back to my village when this happened."

"Oh!"

When they were talking, the mechanic saw the chest inside the car. It was so attractive that even mechanics can't ignore it. In 20 minutes, the mechanic replaced the tire with the new one. Ravi gave him his money and was about to sit in the car when the mechanic asked him, “Sir! If you don't mind, can I ask you something?"

"Sure! Ask."

"What's in that chest in your car? It's shining very brightly!"

Ravi looked at the chest. He got a little nervous about getting exposed, but he balanced himself and screamed in a rude manner, “It's none of your business! Okay!"

The mechanic lowered his head and said, “I am sorry, Sir!"

By saying this, he sat on his bike and returned. After a few minutes, he disappeared after going much further. Ravi relaxed and sat in his car. He then started his car and again started his journey at midnight again.

The sun rose. It was the time of 11:00 a.m.

The car stopped at the entrance side of the village. The whole village was like the traditional ones. Women getting water from Wells, everyone doing their daily wage work, and kids playing with dogs like that. When a person saw Ravi, he screamed out loudly, “Ravi bhaiya!"

After listening to this, all smiled with happiness and went to meet him as they know him from childhood. They called the sarpanch as he was the best friend of Ravi's father. When the sarpanch came, Ravi lowered his body and touched his feet of him and greeted everyone happily.

"How are you? Ravi!" Said the sarpanch.

"I am fine, Amu kaka!" Ravi answered with a beautiful smile.

Actually, the whole name of the sarpanch was Ramesh Chaudhary but Ravi calls him Kaka as he knew him from his childhood.

"Ravi! I asked you to bring something. Did you?"

"Yes, kaka. It’s in the car."

Ravi went back into his car and brought the pot of Ganga Jal with him. Sarpanch saw inside the pot. The pot was not totally full.

"What's this, Ravi? It’s not full!"

"Oh! Kaka, some of the Ganga Jal dropped between the journey by mistake. I am sorry!"

"It’s okay!"

He then washed his feet with Ganga Jal at the entrance of the village because it was the rule of the ancestors of the village that a person who is entering the village after 5 years must wash his feet with Ganga Jal first begoring entering. Then he sat in his car again and parked it in front of his grandfather's mansion. Sundarbans Chautala, Ravi’s grandfather had created the biggest mansion in the village before dying. It was the oldest mansion in the whole village but it was still fancy and beautiful from the inside. Ravi went in, joined his hands and prayed in front of the picture of his father and grandfather and started inspecting the whole mansion.

"Aah! I am really tired today. I will check the plot later. Let's rest now."

He was going into his bedroom to rest when he saw a door he hadn't noticed!

"Wait! There is one more room?"

By saying this, he went near the door. That door was at the right corner of the ground floor inside the mansion. He opened the door with a slight touch. Behind the door, she was stairs going downwards inside the darkness.

"Is it the basement? Let's check it!"

He went downwards. The basement was a bit disgusting and of poor quality.

"I think no one has entered this basement for decades and who will? It’s so disgusting! Wait!"

He got an idea between his words. He went outside the mansion. It was the evening time. He opened his car and took out the chest and took it slowly inside the mansion. From there, he took a breath because the chest was giant and heavy again and took it inside the basement. Then he kept it at the edge of the room and covered it with a dirty bedsheet lying there.

"Phew! Now no one can identify my secret! Ha! Ha! Ha!"

After hiding the treasure, he went into his bedroom.

At midnight, Ravi was sleeping on his bed fearlessly. He was still dreaming of treasure. In the dream, he was the richest person lying in the pond of gold coins. His life is luxurious!

"Ha! Ha! I am the richest tone in the world! No one can beat me!"

But then his dream took a deadly turn. He started listening to horrible voices inside his ears. He was scared a little. Then the pool started to rise. He didn't know what was happening. Then the coins started melting into the blood. In a few minutes, the whole pond was full of blood instead of coins. He was very scared. He tried to get out but he couldn't. Then in a couple of seconds, he drowned inside the pool.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!"

Ravi waked up from his dream with a huge scream. He looked towards the clock. It was about to 1p.m. 

"Oh God! What a horrible dream."

His head was full of sweat. After that, he relaxed himself for a while.

"Chill Ravi! It’s just a dream."

Suddenly, his phone started ringing. He checked his phone. It was Anjali, his wife. He picked up the call and said, “What happened, Anjali! Why are you calling at midnight?"

"Hello Ravi! Please Come to civil hospital, quickly!"

"What? What happened ?!"

"I have no time to explain. Please come here, fast!"

Anjali ended the call with her last words.

Ravi again scared a bit. He was sweating from head to foot again. He quickly dressed up and picked up the key of his car. Then he ran outside of the mansion, started his car and drove it towards. He was in tension that time. 

"What could happen? Why did Anjali asked me to come to the civil hospital?"

The road was quite empty that night so it took about only 2 hours to reach the hospital. He quickly stopped the car, got out and ran inside the hospital. From there, he asked the receptionist about Anjali. She said, “she’s on the second floor, sir!".

After that, he went inside the lift and reached the 2nd floor. When he reached, he saw Anjali! He ran towards her but he reached there, he was shocked. He was about to cry. He saw that Sumathi’s son was lying on a medical bed. There was a huge wound on his head and it was covered with cloth and tape. Anjali was crying sitting next to him. He went nearer and kept his hand on Summit and started crying.

"How, how did this happen?"

"He was coming downwards after playing at roof that his feet slipped from stairs and his head bumped hardly at a stair. Doctor said that the wound is healed but there is a huge wound in his inner brain and there, the swelling is increasing. They said it is necessary to do operation but the cost is of 10 lakhs! If they didn't start the operation, our son will die!" She started crying after saying this.

Ravi was broken from inside. He couldn't withstand at all.

He said rudely,"10 lakh! From where will I get this money? Huh!"

He stopped while talking.

"You wait here. I will bring the money."

He was going that he saw a doctor who came and stand beside the Summit’s bed.

He said quicklimed! D! Doctor! Are you monitoring Summit?"

"Yes!"

"I am his father. You please start the operation. I will bring the money in five hours."

"Smokey! But please be faster. It's already very late!"

Then Ravi came outside of the hospital. He sat in his car and again went to his village. When he reached his village, he quickly got of his car and ran inside the basement of the mansion. Then he picked up the bedsheet and opened the chest. Without waiting, he picked up ten coins and was about to run that he stopped. He stared the coins and said, “What am I doing? This is not right! These coins are not mine. I cannot use them."

When he said this, the coins started shining more brightly. They were like they were asking Ravi to use them. Ravi sensed a feeling of being devilish and greedy inside himself. He quickly changed his mind and said, “Wait! Why I can't use them. I found them from the jungle it means they are all mine. And we’ll, it’s first time I am using them. There is no need of being scared this time."

He then again hides those chests and again went to the city. There, he went to the jeweler shop whose owner was his friend, Nath!

He went inside the shop and said to the worker,"Hey you!"

"Yes sir! How can I help you?"

"I need you to give me money in the exchange of these coins with money!"

After saying that, he kept the bag of coins in front of him. When the worker checked the the bag, he was surprised. He called the owner of the shop to check it. When Nath came out side of his office, he saw Ravi and went nearer. He then saithe

Ravi! How are you?"

I don't have time to talk Nath! You quickly exchange these coins and give me the money."

"Wait! Wait! What happened?"

"My son is in hospital and he is injured. I need money for his operation! Please be quick, Nath!"

"Okay! Okay! Let me check these coins first."

Nath checked the coin. After that, he exclaimed surprisingly!

"This is an ancient gold coin. It is very hard to get it! where did you get it?"

Ravi was a bit nervous. He just said," I will tell you later." And completed Nath's doubt.

"Its value is much higher than the other ones. They can make a big profit for me!"

"I don't need to know that, Nath! You just tell me if they are able to exchange it for ten lakhs?"

"Ten Lakh? I can give you 20 lakhs for them!"

"Then please give me the money quickly!"

Nath recognizes Ravi's tension from his facial expressions. He just said, “Okay!" And gave him the money. Ravi quickly reached the hospital with money. There, he met the doctor and said, “How is my child, Doctor!"

"The operation has been successful! Your child is safe now!"

Ravi was filled with relaxation and happiness when he listened to what the doctor said!

"Oh God! Thank You, Doctor! Here is your money."

"Well, you must submit it at the counter."

"Oh! Okay, doctor!"

Ravi Shaked his hand with the doctor and went to Anjali. She was also very happy.

"Anjali! Take Summit at home. I will come back home soon."

"As you wish, Ravi! But try to come home as soon as possible, okay?"

"Okay! I will. Take care!"

"By saying this, he kissed her forehead and left the hospital.

When he was returning in his car. There was a sign of relief and satisfaction on his face. He was not guilty of using those coins. But these signs changed in a couple of minutes!

It was the time of 8:30 in the morning. When he reached the village, he was confused. He saw a group of villagers gathered near the tube well. He was thinking in mind, “Why these villagers gathered there at day time?"

Then he went near the group. All of them were looking shocked. He entered the group to see what happened. Most of them were crying by staring inside the tube well. Ravi was trying to understand by saying, “What happened?"

When he reached near the tubewell,he looked inside it. But when he looked, he was frightened to his spirit. His eyes were wide open. He was about to scream because what he saw was……
