I was a ruffian, held fed, vomited often, covered with flea with an eye gorged out...and you.... one night, a windy night, cold, very very cold, bent over me and touched my shoulder. I recoiled, more at the fear of being loved than being touched by a stranger. My life, a constant saga of struggle to live, every moment a battle to be won for staying alive was now more comfortable than a home and love, since who knew when I would be left out to fend for myself on the streets again....

But still, you took me to your home, fed me, bathed me, cuddled me...I was a part of your personal heaven.

I still remember that night...you sat all alone on the chair, rocking slowly....looking out at the dark silhoutte of the plants where I played during the day. After some time you cuddled me and I could feel the wetness in your eyes. Were you crying silently? Something was so eerie, not my type....we are born eerie, but then something was beyond that.

You stood up and went to the place where you cooked our meals and took out that long sharp thing with which you cut those things you cook...and placed it upon your wrists...

It was then that I saw those vile dark shadows dancing around you, laughing...I knew them.....you didn't.

I hopped up and looked at your eyes deeply. You can't do this!!!! I can't let them take you away.....No!!!! You can't just leave like this!!!!! This is what I was screaming at you....then!!!!

You said nothing, but like a fool kept looking at me and all of a sudden dropped that long sharp thing from your hand and took me up in your arms, clenching me to your chest, you cried like hell, your tears oozing down upon my face too, and I was crying a bit too...you could never see that.

I was happy, damn Happy...those dark shadows that were dancing around you moments before had vanished. It was light again.

Do you know what you had seen in my eyes that night?

You had seen the eyes of the tiger.

We are the denizens of the night....darkness is calm, full of love and we come to you to hold you, embrace you in our custody, when you feel that ending your life is better than living.
