Breathlessness

Breathlessness

Yes! I am really afraid to hear this word after the occurrence of covid 19. It's very hard to remember my experiences that I had when I was working as a Nurse. Before describing the word Breathlessness, I would like to elaborate about the word breath. What is breath? It means life or vitality. Such a wonderful word, breath.

If a child born, the doctor will ask for newborn breath which means the baby is alive or not? Otherwise is baby copying to live out of the womb.

When I was doing covid duty I have gotten chance to care so many patients who affected with covid 19. Old ages. Childrens, priests, sisters and so on. It was very difficult with all the protective measures like mask ( N95), apron shoes to be with them for 12 hours. With these we can not even breath properly.

However our difficult was more better than who affected with covid. They suffered a lot... Fever, cough, sore throat, headache, body pain and the most dangerous one is breathing difficulty or breathlessness.

As usual we have to give them oxygen as required level to maintain their oxygen level. Sometimes small amount of oxygen is not sufficient for who has less saturation level. So we need to give more amount of oxygen by a specified mask is called BIPAP ventilation. Through this we can give oxygen in a high amount if they really need.

But we can not change the mask everytime as the patient needs like normal mask. Unfortunately with this mask also, they starts to complain "I am not getting enough oxygen, you people are not giving adequate amount of oxygen, you are going to kill me, Oh God!! I am going to die." Imagine !! how painful these situations; They are not intentionally telling this, but their situation is making to tell them like this

. They feel like to drink water, but they can not! They wants to talk, but they can not! They might have a strong intention to express their difficult, but they can not!

Hopeless situations. But still we need to encourage them. I have seen fear in some patients face when someone die nearest bed to them.

Oh God ! how strange these situations! I can not imagine...When their relatives come to see them, my heart beat will rise, my eyes start to fill with tears...What I can tell to them about their condition?

When they look at my face, I tell them very hardly with some hopes, prayers and tears. Some patients may overcome with further complications, some patients will die, most of them will be on danger list and the rest might go to permanent lung damage or other organs failure.

In my opinion, that the god is trying to remind as about our negatives. That's why he is punishing as with these type of diseases. Whatever it is, we should not forget about the disasters. Our loved ones are not with as now. But still we need to move on. We don't know, what is going to happen next.Try to do good things, spread positive vibes, help those who really needs, respect everyone, don't underestimate anyone, don't predict anything, don't expect anything back from anyone.

In fact, don't disturb nature, be clean and safe, keep smile always, try to walk alone it makes you more strength. Above all try to do good things, support everyone when they need.. because we don't know "when will be our last breath". Breathlessness is not a simple word unless you feel it. It can kill anyone!!.Hope for better breath!!!

These all are my experiences, not to make to feel anyone, not to harass anyone, no intention to spiritual talk ...Thanku for all who read this.Have a better life 🧬..
