Mustering up all the moxie, he took his stance that sent chills up the spine of the gangster.

The outlaw was astounded by the kid’s sheer audacity. The kid looked straight into his eyes with rage and confidence flaring up in his eyes.

At gunpoint, unarmed, the kid stood rooted, clad within his unwavering confidence and conviction that he had chosen at the spur of the moment.

The hefty man was hit by the audacity that still seemed surreal. He saw the challenge in kid’s eyes that reflected a will power enough to take the entire world down.

He had gorged on umpteen lives without the slightest hesitation, but for the first time in his life he experienced the weight of the metallic toy he usually carried and it was heavier.

He placed his index finger on the trigger and fired.

The kid still stood in his place as the bullet brushed past him.

That mere bullet was a test, a sign of respect for his bravery.

Millions wear the facade of the bravery puffing up their chest but falter at brink of death. Their resolve, belief, and courage are sundered upon facing the inevitable death.

But this kid didn’t blink, not an ounce of flinch could be seen in his eyes.

The gangster had finally run into himself only that this kid's hands weren’t dirty yet, he pondered.

He smiled at the fate that bonded both of them. Shackled by his position and responsibility of being the head, he couldn’t dare lose to a kid.

He fired again triggering countless and endless nightmares knowing very well that those eyes would haunt him till his grave.

They left the home and the kid’s sister and family were unscathed as per the deal.
