Deepak's family was not an affluent one before. He just managed to earn an amount of money with which he could support his family financially. But later on,when his job was taken away from him during the COVID-19 lockdown,he struggled much and got a new job whose salary was much higher than the former.

Deepak's family consisted of his wife Nirmala and his two children,Geeta and Ajoy. Geeta was the older of the two and Ajoy was two years younger. Deepak's parents had died four years after his marriage in an accident.

Though Deepak was a good-natured and kind-hearted person,he trusted people too much. Due to this reason, many people emotionally blackmailed him and fooled him for taking his money away. Nirmala always warned Deepak not to blindly trust anyone, but Deepak always failed to listen to this advice of his wife. His close friends too advised him regarding the same. Even his children werecwere smart enough to realise that their father was very easily made a fool out of everyone.

Later on,Deepak hired a worker to clean his wife's garden. The worker had cleaned it quite nicely, so Deepak asked him if he could clean the garden once every month. The man readily agreed to it. Little by little, the worker also understood that Deepak was a little foolish. So after working for a few months he asked Deepak advance payment of three months as he wanted to go to his village and serve his old parents living there. He assured Deepak that he would work for the next three months without any money. Deepak believed the worker's false words, who went away with the money and never came back. Nirmala rebuked Deepak for his stupidity but Deepak had still not learned a lesson from it.

After six-seven months, the company where he was working faced severe losses. So the company closed down, and Deepak lost his job once more. But in the meantime,he had earned quite a lot of money, so, he decided to start a business of his own.

Deepak opened a big grocery store and recruited Rahul,an old classmate of his,in the shop. Rahul was a very dishonest person and he knew about Deepak's foolishness as he had known him from his childhood. As Nirmala had heard of Rahul from Deepak, she tried to talk some sense into her husband;but, in vain.

Deepak had so much trust in Rahul that he did not once hesitate to keep the money and the keys of the safe when Rahul was just in front of him. This was the biggest mistake of Deepak. Rahul thus got the chance and got into Deepak's house one night and opened Deepak's safe to obtain the money from it. Deepak heard a sound, jumped out of his bed quietly to catch hold of the thief. But, Rahul, who had a knife in his hand, murdered Deepak and escaped with money and other valuables. Deepak's wife and children, who were asleep, heard the cries of Deepak and immediately rushed to see what had happened. When they came, they were shocked to find Deepak groaning in pain. Before his wife could call the ambulance, Deepak was already dead.

The police arrived but even after police investigation, the murderer and thief was not to be found anywhere. Deepak's wife and her children thus lived a miserable life full of suffering after the death of Deepak. Had he paid heed to his wife's words, then this would not have happened.

Moral of the story: "Trust is an appreciable quality, but blindly trusting anyone is not good. "
