Beyond Horizons
"If everyone fits into the box, who will think out of the box"
Human life passes through different cycles and with each phase, one has to adopt new rules, practices, processes, culture, dos, and don'ts. The list is long here...
Definitely, the above cycle is how one normally grows - from a child to a student, a student to a mature professional, and from a mature professional to an overall human! Over a period of time, as we become 'humans' we somewhere kill our innovation and creativity.
We are restricting ourselves to do different things as we don't want to be on the wrong side. We are too much worried about how people would think, would behave, and thereby react. Every action starts with a well-defined process to avoid consequences. Here, aren't we losing our opportunities to excel in our attempt to please the larger societal norms? Unconsciously, we are fitting ourselves in different boxes or boundaries set by our environment - the societal bonds, definitions, and learnings.
Observe a child of 4 to 5 years old. An hour with a child is a crazy ride on the land of odd thinking. The child can ask a
nything which doesn't exist in the world. He can dream about a bird swimming in the water and fish flying in the sky. He can dream about a land where mosquitos can be bigger than humans, where rabbits are blue, elephant as a King of the Jungle, and Lion as his pet. Maybe it is too much for us as 'matured human beings'.
Surprisingly, if we read about stories of great scientists, they were able to invent because they had a different perspective towards things and events which could be crazy or lunatic in eyes of a common man.
Don't behave like a child but don't suppress the child inside you. Try to see the flipside of the coin - don't restrict yourself to ask weird questions, don't follow universally accepted solutions without exploring untouched options. You might not find your surroundings aligned with you initially, but every achiever goes through this process.
Multiple theories, simulation exercises, and training are available to push innovation and creativity. But those will only help you if you are ready to accept odd as one of the options.
Be creative. Be innovative. Think BEYOND HORIZONS.....
