"Behind Every Great Daughter Is A Truly Amazing Dad!"
I am blessed to have such a dad as mine! The recognitions and appreciations I have earned until now, as an educator, an author, a social worker, in the fine art and visual art industry, are all because of his motivation and the trust he bestowed on me. He loves me and believes in me but never expresses it. His love is seen in his gestures towards me.
He is an advocate, an engineer, an awesome singer, a great guitarist, an awesome mouth organ player, and a successful businessman himself, but never have I seen him boast or flaunt his achievements.
He is soft-spoken, hardworking, and funny - never falling short of jokes in any situation to make the surroundings lively and positive.
He has taught me the values of sharing and caring, morality, integrity, self-respect, and adjustments.
A courteous attitude, humor, good behavior, giving respect to one and all, sacrificing one's own self-interest in the welfare of others, without any expectations of return, is what I learned from him since childhood... The principle of "OTHERS ABOVE SELF"!
HE PRACTICES WHAT HE PREACHES. He is my ideal and my role model. He has tutored me to see the goodness in others, appreciating the positive aspects in them.
He has educated me to EMPATHIZE... NEVER TO JUDGE, DISCRIMINATE, OR HUMILIATE ANYONE... Even if the other was nasty to you!
He has trained me to learn the art of patience and silence.
He gives the example of a lotus to back up his mentoring.
He quotes, "Be like a lotus, which grows in the mud, yet retains its purity, cleanliness, and beauty amidst the dirt around. In fact, it enhances the beauty of the mud by its being."
He has taught me the importance of EMPATHY instead of being vindictive. Forgiveness and staying humble is what he has always desired and followed himself.
The list is endless of how much he has compromised and sacrificed so that we may live well. He has tried his best to give us the best.
He is my inspiration and my strength.
*"My Father Didn't Tell Me How To Live,*
*He lived and let me watch him do it!"*
