Beauty Beyond Words

Yuvi did not like to go and play downstairs with all the children. He felt that other children treated him differently as he stammered and didn't want to be his friend. He always thought that why can't he speak properly without stammering like others and thought that he needed to change. He cried sitting in his room that day feeling dejected. His mother seeing her child cry also wasn't happy too and asked him what had happened. Yuvi replied, "No-one wants to be my friend. NO-ONE!!!"       

His mother asked him, "And why is that?"

He replied, "Because no-one wants to be a friend of a person who stammers."

His mother told him, "That's not a reason. No-one is perfect in this world. Everyone has a weakness or problem yet everyone has that one friend who gives you support and courage, that one friend who gives you company in the darkest days of your life. So, now you have two options: Either you go downstairs and search for a friend or you stay here and don't have a friend." After listening to his mom Yuvi got ready, washed his face, said thanks to his mum and went downstairs. Other children saw him stammering and pulled his legs when a child named Sonu came and started defending him. Yuvi thought that he has found his one friend and it was true.

Sonu came to drop Yuvi at his home where Yuvi's mom asked Sonu to stay. Sonu stayed and soon both Sonu and Yuvi started playing question answers. After Yuvi's questions have finished Sonu asked his first question, "What is the thing that you want to change in yourself?"

Yuvi answered, "My stammering"

Sonu further inquired, "Why?"

Yuvi replied, "Because no-one likes my stammering and everyone thinks that I must change and stop stammering." Listening to Yuvi's problem Sonu said that Yuvi is wrong. He must not think that he must change. If people think that he needs to stop stammering then the people are wrong and they need to change not Yuvi and afterwards Sonu also said that he heard Yuvi's mom talking about Yuvi's grandfather's retirement party and gave Yuvi an idea to give a good speech on that day on his grandfather and on how people treated him different and how he wanted people to treat him equally and also if Yuvi has any problem in preparing the speech Sonu will help him.

Yuvi thought of it as a good idea and they both started preparing Yuvi's speech from that day. Yuvi's parents seeing him practicing and happy with a friend had a beatific smile on their face. Then the day came and Yuvi and Sonu were ready for the speech. Yuvi gave a good speech and from that day Yuvi was treated equally, everyone was a friend of Yuvi and Yuvi always lived happily and never was sad again.
