Bayajabai's Service
Bayajabai's Service
Tatya Kote's mother, Bayajabai, used to go to the forest every noon with a basket on her head containing bread and vegetables. She roamed in the jungles for a long time, trampling over bushes and shrubs in search of the Sai Baba. And after finding Him, she fell at His feet.
Sai baba sat calm and quiet like in meditation. And Bayajabai placed a leaf before Him, and served the eatables, bread, vegetables, etc. there and fed Him forcibly.
Wonderful was her faith and service. She saw Sai baba as her elder son and Sai baba also called her mother. Every day she roamed at noon in the forest and forced Sai Baba to take his lunch. Her service, Upasana or Penance, by whatever name we may call it, was never forgotten by Sai Baba till his Maha Samadhi.
Remembering fully what service she rendered, Sai Baba benefited her son magnificently. Both the son and the mother had great faith in the Sai Baba.
Sai Baba often said to them that 'Fakir (Mendicacy) was the real Lordship as it was everlasting, and the so-called Lordship (riches) was transient.
After some years, Sai Baba stopped going to the forest and began to live in the village and take His food in the Masjid.
From that time Bayajabai's troubles of daily going to the forest in search of Sai Baba ended.
