Bob Kane and Bill Finger created Batman for DC comics and the name "Bat-Man" was coined by Kane. It made its first appearance in Detective Comics No. 27 in the year 1939. He was the second superhero to be created after Superman.

The  story of Batman is that as a young child, Bruce Wayne, Batman's real name, saw a robber named Joe Chill murder his mother and father in front of him after the family left a theatre. He decided that he did not want that kind of violence to happen to anyone else and he dedicated his life to protect his city named Gotham City. Wayne learned many techniques of fighting as he grew up. As an adult, Wayne used a black colored costume to scare criminals so that there would be less crime in Gotham and called himself Batman.

Batman uses many different tools which includes his car which he calls "the Batmobile", a special belt full of tools called a "utility belt" and bat-shaped boomerangs called "batarangs."All of these are very advanced.

Ritesh likes the superhero very much. He apes the style of Batman and aspires to become a superhero like him one day. He studies in Madnawati Public School in Sambalpur and lives in the Jagannath colony.

One day while returning from tiutions in the evening, he saw two rogues trying to snatch a chain from a woman in a relatively deserted area which falls in the route to his tiutions.

He immediately decided to help the lady just like Batman protects and helps the people of his city. He immediately called 100 from his phone and gave the location for the police to reach the spot. And attacked the thieves by speeding his bicycle towards them.

The thieves tried to scare Ritesh with a knife which each of them possessed. But Ritesh was not a boy to be scared so easily. He got down his cycle and defended using his school bag. Just then one of the thieves caught Ritesh from behind.

The woman was calling for help. However before any untoward incident could take place, the police siren could be heard. The rogues panicked and left Ritesh and fled the spot.

The police and the woman thanked Ritesh for his timely help and alerting the police.

When Ritesh's mother asked him for being late, he told all what had happened. He was praised for his courage.

Next day Ritesh's father read an article in the local newspaper where this incident was mentioned. The woman whom Ritesh had helped, happened to be a reporter working in that newspaper.

Ritesh was praised by his principal and teachers and received congratulations from his friends. Later he was called to the Collector's residence with his parents where the Sambalpur Collector met and praised Ritesh for showing so much courage at such a tender age.

Ritesh is happy that he could emulate his idol, Batman in real life.

He is now a small celebrity in his town. And aspires to become a police officer in future so that he could protect his country from  unsocial elements and help in eliminating crime, just like his idol 'Batman'
