All The Difference In The World
All The Difference In The World
Every Sunday morning I take a light jog around a lake near my home
And every time I would find an elderly woman Rome
She would spend hours sitting at the water's edge
And beside her would sit a little cage
This past Sunday my curiosity got the best of me
So I decided to ask her why she sits near the lake and what does she see
When I got closer to here I found beside her was not a cage but a trap
Inside it were three turtles and one was on her lap
She was scrubbing the shell of a turtle with a sponge brush
She was doing it so carefully that I waited for some time even though I was in a rush
“ Hello,” I said “I see you here every Sunday morning” ‘ can you tell me what you’re doing with these turtles
She smiled and said “come down here settle”
She told “anything on turtles she’ll weaken it over time and affect its swimming state
“Wow,” I said her love for turtles really made me appreciate
She went on, I spend hours helping these little guys. It’s my own strange way of making a difference
But there was a question in my mind which was trying to jump from my brains fence
But 99% of turtles spend their whole life with a shell full of scum and algae
So how exactly are your localized efforts here truly making a difference? I asked eagerly
The woman giggled aloud, she then looked down at the turtle scrubbed off the last piece of algae from the shell, carefully like her own child
And said “Sweetie” if this little guy could talk, he’d tell you I just made all the difference in the world
Moral = you can change the world - maybe not all at once but one person, one animal, and one good deed at a time can
Wake up every morning and pretend like what do you do makes a difference ...............
Thank you
