A Visitor I Remembered
A Visitor I Remembered
Raghunath Sir! Come. Please sit. I showed them a chair too.
He talked with My Grandfather for some time and enquired about my studies.
Mom made chai for all of us. Grandpa expressed his dejection as he is not able to meet their friends at a function. Grandpa is bedridden for six months in the last year. His condition has improved after that. Doctors advised him not to walk outside the home for another year.
Raghunath uncle kept his hand on Grandpa's shoulder. Jaggu!(Friends calls him Jaggu) don't worry. We will invite them home.
You will be having a good time. He assured. Grandpa's eyes filled with light.
Mom said she will prepare a special lunch for them.
Like this, Raghunath uncle used to visit our home. His visits always helped Grandpa to stay stronger.
In the next year, Grandpa died a natural death in his sleep.
Raghunath uncle cried along with us by seeing his best friend's body lifeless.
Even after his friend's demise, he continued visiting us. He used to say positive things to Grandma. They both used to discuss Grandpa's life.
After observing his nature, I felt this kind of friendship was rare.
Nowadays People are ghosting if you haven't replied to their messages once.
How thicker the bond of friendship in those days. They never feel old in their friend's presence. Such an amazing bond it is.
