A True Story Of A Golden Heart

A while ago, I went to Shirdi with my friend.

It was an incident there which forced me to think about what is the most precious thing and who is really the richest person in the world. People were coming and going, they were busy in their own jobs. People were sitting on the roadside and relaxing.

A beggar Daadi came and sat on the roadside and started singing Sai mantra in low voice. I saw that she had a torn bag in which she kept her food, goods and other things. Without any reason, she was giving well wishes to everybody and she was happy and smiling constantly.

There is a place in Sai Baba Mandir where anybody can get a tea for just Rs.2 and coffee for just Rs.3.

Today, the old Daadi did not have much money in the kitty. She was unable to buy something to eat. She checked her bag again to find more money but she failed. She had a few coins. A few coins were enough to buy a cup of tea. She brought the tea and sat in her place. She began to drink tea. I had heard that, hunger disappears by drinking tea. I saw that today.

Then, a disabled dog came there, the people were running away from the dog. Old Daadi called the dog and started talking to it. As if the dog will understand the whole point. She said that she had nothing to eat or feed it. Dog was staring at daadi with hopeful eyes. Daadi asked the dog, Will you drink tea? And then she put a little tea in front of the dog. Dog started drinking the tea, She gave her entire tea to the dog. The dog had the entire tea and was still hopeful for eating something. She smiled and said that she really did not have anything else. I think the dog understood what she said and sat in front of the Daadi.

I had few chips in my bag. I gave her all the chips. She was very happy and started eating instantly. The dog was still waiting for more love and she knew it. She gave the dog some chips, but the dog refused to eat. But Daadi ordered it to eat chips. And the dog started eating.

I noticed that she was more happy. She had nothing but a golden heart. Her smile was worth millions of dollars. She had faith in god, she was poor but she was the richest person I had ever seen. I was wondering why she was so kind. She just did not think about herself which is a human nature.

Seeing all these things my smile was missing but she was still smiling , I was thinking about what type of trust she had in God.

But what happened next, I was forced to smile and my eyes were filled with tears.

Someone came and gave her Rs.500. She couldn’t believe that its Rs.500 and she was checking the note again and again. She was blessing everyone because she didn’t know who gave her the money. She was thankful to God.

She taught me to be happy and have faith in god. The best is yet to come. Regardless, of what happens, we must remain positive. Always smile, Because, Its free and no money is needed for it.

Without having anything she was the richest because she had a Golden heart.

Thanks !

With love.
