On the marriage of her elder sister, she is the single one crying continuously. Her only question is why her sister has to leave the house and with whom she will play now. A girl of eight years is consoled by her mother, “Don’t worry. When you’ll get married, none will take you away from us.” She is a happy soul now. At the age of sixteen, her matriculation exam result and a good match for her both arrive together. She is stress-free. Since her childhood she believes in her mother’s words, “Nobody can dare to alienate you from us.”

But her trust is shaken when the bridegroom, ten years senior to her, holds the hand of his bride to take her to his home. “What rubbish! How can he do this? Why mother is quiet now? “

She notices her mother is behaving very casually. She tries to make her mother recall what she has been promising her since childhood. But it seems her mother is mentally prepared to get separated from her.

“Oh! For a long, she has been lying to me. No worries. I shall take charge of my life. I won’t leave my house.” She murmurs and flees.

The bridegroom, unable to understand what’s happening, joins others to search for his newlywed beautiful wife. She is spotted at a railway station trying to take a ticket in bridal attire but well covered with a shawl so that her valuables won’t bring dangers to her. The station master has just returned after enjoying the lip-smacking dishes of her wedding celebration. He feels responsible to ask where her husband is. She hesitates to reply. But suddenly finds her husband at the station looking frantically inside the halted trains. She gets relieved and signals the uncle about his presence.

Again, the same hand holding her a little tight so that she won’t be a runaway bride. The heavy pressure of a male hand on her tender wrist aggravates her anger.

“Oh! Does he want to control me? Ok!” She forcibly makes her release from his grip and runs. This time she is caught by her own family members. Nothing to do. At last, being tired of her failed attempts, she surrenders. She has to leave her parental home where she has spent so many years.

Her mother’s prayers are answered by God. She doesn’t create any drama in her in- laws’ house. One day her mother says, “Listen, whatever you want to have, ask your husband to provide you.”

“Why will I ask a stranger?”

“He is no more a stranger. He has taken the responsibility of yours.”

“Sorry. I’ll say only you about my requirements.”

One day her husband calmly utters, “Please, don’t hesitate to say me about your desires. After marriage just as your mother asks your father for everything, you can too do the same with me. “

She takes a whole month to trust her husband’s motives. Her love for him emerges for the first time when finds him confronting his sister who is against his decision of allowing his wife to continue her study. He announces that he will keep his promise. She completes her graduation, joins a school as a teacher, and respects her husband from the bottom of her heart. Recently, she celebrates the silver jubilee of her marriage anniversary. However, her husband never leaves any chance of teasing her in front of children by referring to her as a “runaway wife”.

One day she asks him why he loves her so much knowing well her rebellious nature. He answers, “The more you show your courage of listening to your heart, the more I fall in love with you. I always wish for a life partner like you who denies being a puppet in anyone’s hand.” She hugs him tightly, as if assuring him, never- never anytime in future she’ll leave him. He has earned her trust and love. She is hopeful about her promising and successful life with him in the coming seven more lives.
