A Close Call and an Unexpected Hero
A Close Call and an Unexpected Hero
A week ago, I was traveling back from Pune to Chandigarh. I had a flight at 4 am. I reached the airport by 2:15, completed my luggage check-in and security check by 2:35, and waited at the gate specified on my boarding pass. According to the details on the pass, boarding was supposed to start at 3:25 am, but nothing seemed to be happening. I checked the display board and noticed that the flight was delayed, so I sat down near the boarding gate. There were a lot of people around, and slowly, I fell asleep.
After some time, a random person woke me up, asking, "Where are you going?" I woke up but was still disoriented, distracted by my surroundings. By then, the area was almost empty; it was just me and the person who had woken me up. I started to panic, thinking I had missed my flight. The person asked again, "Where are you going?" I replied, "Chandigarh." The person then said, "The gate for Chandigarh has been changed. Please go to the new gate."
Feeling tense, I rushed to the gate he had mentioned and felt a wave of relief when I saw people waiting there. Then, I realized I had forgotten to thank the person who had helped me. When I looked back, he had already disappeared, probably having boarded his flight. He was my savior in that moment.
Grateful for all those who take the time to help others.
