Words Left Un-Spoken
Words Left Un-Spoken
If you have ever listened to silence then I am sure that you have heard,
The gentle constant ringing in the space between two words.
When you pay close attention you will find that it is not all in your head,
But instead are whispers of the words that the world has left un-said.
It is "I love you" left Un-spoken or a mother's very last goodbye,
That she did not have the chance to say
As she watched her only child die.
It could also be forgiveness never given
Or "I am sorry," said much too late,
If certain words could possibly save a life
If only we could know it could not wait.
It is the secrets you wish you could hear
Or words from those too scared to say,
The truth of how they really feel inside
Some of us have an advantage still.
For some of us are still alive to speak
Those words that could save a life,
Or give strength to those who are weak
So do not leave anything left un-spoken.
Because it might just be words that
The whole worlds actually need to hear
Before one day they become only that ringing in another persons' ear.
