Wonder! What Death Is?

I wonder, how gracefully she treads,

to the chamber of the sick-souled and brain deads.

Does she whisper to them her intentions or simply imposes her superiority?

I wonder if DEATH.....has trouble sleeping too or she lays her head in tranquility.

 

I wonder if she owns a wonderful town with huge lawns and tremendous trees.

I wonder if she wears a derby hat, smokes cigars, and takes pride in the intricate tapestry.

Does she wander like a refugee, tan gabardine?

I wonder if she frowns at the deep-pocketed and turns her back at them with envy.

 

I wonder if her town bustles with the commotion of locomotives like at Beckenham.

I wonder if she collects stamps or drinks chateau Lafite in the arms of exquisite dames.

I wonder if she sleeps in dark tunnels, in chilling winters, covers herself using rags.

I wonder if she desperately awaits them, to throw the food-filled garbage bags.

 

I wonder if she entertains the nobility in her silk-stocked bower.

I wonder if her royal bed wrinkles, after the laborious hour.

I wonder if she ever felt a teardrop on her less refined countenance.

I wonder if she ever fought for a morsel and be appalled for her appearance.

 

Such....... were my queries that baffle me utmost.

Enlighten me! first dear... before you prepare my course.

For I, have left your impressions erstwhile unseen.

Then, I, shall wonder no more what death is?
