Winter Nights
Winter Nights
With leaves withering away,
I slithered my way into the deadly nights,
With eerie horror,
Making my heart pound heavily,
Points of light by the stars,
Made my vision straight,
Through the haunted woods,
Wishing to see hope and light,
Darkness and it was all,
That made the year with very little magnanimity,
Desperate to find a bit of humbleness,
The search was futile,
Miles more to cover,
To escape the endless mutiny,
Of the endless cyclic darkness,
Fog and smoke of the jittery winter nights,
With frozen ice enshrouding me,
I swayed my way like an alcoholic,
At least there was that horizon of the last ray,
Of the rising Sun,
To end the misery of this weak heart.
