Why I Write

When pent-up emotions and fine feelings 

Pour out of me like one possessed and 

Demand the catharsis of release in words ;

When the urge to transfer my thoughts 

On to the pristine pure blankness of paper 

Becomes too strong to contain inside me ;

When the stirrings of my soul translates 

Itself into what the world terms worthy

Of being read and calls it beautiful art ....

I then become a writer.
