NO TEARS WHEN I AM GONE
NO TEARS WHEN I AM GONE
The loneliness of the path
Does little to deter me
From flying to touch the heights-
But I am alone not so much
In that the regions above are
Not abundant with allies
But because the hurt
In my heart has
Its own part in
Alienating me a little
From the ties that bind
Me to my brethren.
A lonely life is what seems
To be the burden I must bear;
But in this ver
y seeming
Aloofness I yet somehow
Manage to experience all the
Enigmas that make up
Living and loving... .
But yet, a steady and low flame
Does not flicker out quite as soon
As an intense and fiery one;
Lives take after flames -
And there need be no tears
When I am gone -
Don't cry for me
When I am gone,
For through my words
I shall live on ... .
