What Home Means

What Home Means

A palace is a residence fit for a king,

A hut to a peasant does happiness bring.

Bricks and mortar don't make a home -

Nor just walls with a roof or dome.

Home is where you can be you,

No matter what you say or do.

Your very own personal place,

Your comfort zone, your private space.

Your castle where only you reign,

Your sanctuary, come sun or rain.

Your fortress to keep your foes out,

Only loved ones near you beyond a doubt.

The whole wide world you may roam -

In the end you'll find peace at home.

Home sweet home they say, your abode,

Your dwelling, your refuge from the road.
