When Will We Learn?

When Will We Learn?

1 min 184 1 min 184

Hundreds of sewerage workers die

In filthy gutters, as they risk their lives

Families wait, but they don't return

If this is a lesson, when will we learn?

The fire engines run dry...

Fires in which thousands die

A country that continues to burn

If this is a lesson, when will we learn?

Schools in which there is no book...

Mid-day meals, but no food to cook...

Teachers unpaid, their stomachs churn ...

If this is a lesson, when will we learn?

Daddy doesn't work, there are no jobs...

Hungry kids to feed, he loots and robs...

Ache din, the heart still yearns

If this is a lesson, when will we learn?

The Statues stand tall, and the temples fill with glory

Ram against Rahim; Joseph against Jaspal - the current story

There is no record of laborers dead on their way home,

If this is a lesson when will we learn?

These must be the "achee din" we were promised
