When Clouds Do Not Cry

When Clouds Do Not Cry

His tired eyes keep gazing up, off and on every day-

Day and night with hopes in his eyes he waits for the sky to turn dark each day-

Days pass by, the sky turns dark and gloomy but the clouds still do not cry-

Cry when the clouds only then, his land gets the blessing from above in from of rain-

Rain is what he waits for hopefully and eagerly to wet his land and wet his soil-

Soil he had ploughed and sowed with seeds- each day under the scorching Sun-

Sun to shall has to cool and bless his land soon with monsoon-

Monsoon but looks delayed – delayed are the gains just like his yield of grains-

Grains in abundance, he desperately wishes he grow-

Grow he does but only his worry each day as monsoon stays delayed-

Delayed rain will not give him good harvest to harvest-

Harvest of his and sweat of his, all shall be in vain-

Vain Oh! in vain all his dreams shall be if his crops failed-

Failed monsoon is not good for his land and his peace of mind-

Mind you – on his own a farmer’s hand alone can’t yield-

Yield is like a clap- need two hands – one of farmer and another of monsoon-

Monsoon if does not hold the farmer hand on time-

Time shall not be good for both farmer and each country-men-
