What Was Pulling Me Back?

We are friends, good friends but

Somewhere something more than mere friendship I felt.

As passed by the corridor, my eyes searched for him,

My mouth whispered his name,

My mind thought about him.

Somewhere or the other had a feeling, A true one but not expressive.

No day passed by when he wasn't in my prayers,

Forgot all his rudeness, ignorance if any,

As he smiled.

There was something hidden behind his smile,

Which meant somewhat different to me, somewhat extraordinary.

No pretense, no hurt, seldom talks but something special, very special!

Yet don't know what was pulling me back?

Though looked for him, wished to meet him,

But don't know why turned myself back.

A strong desire to initiate talks, to at least a greeting,

But was drawn back.

In leisure, thought, smiled and laughed,

No option other than jotting down.

Time passed like this,

Those moments became memories,

Things turned out so beautiful,

But still didn't understand what was pulling me back?
