What If I Lived
What If I Lived
If only,
If only, I had survived;
If only, I had lived,
Like I was being loved.
You often laugh at my unresting mind
Had it also been cursed,
But I’ve never seen you back down
On the days I lay sick and in pain
On the days I grew blue and slain
On the days I gave up and stuck onto the drain
On the days I needed to be nursed;
I often hissed that you’d
Strain a muscle or two and
Could catch a headache that’d blind;
But you broke no sweat
Thought no further and
Soothed my attacks and
Took away all my reasons to fret;
If only,
If only, I had survived;
If only, I had lived,
Like I was being loved.
