What I Know About Love
What I Know About Love
I’m young, I recognise, and so I asked the people around me what they knew about love
Some said it was the value of gold
Some compared it to wares unsold
Some said it was the ultimate daydream
Bursting apart right at the seams
It didn’t speak a tongue
But the eyes knew the words
Asking for nothing and everything
Theater of the absurd
I’m young like I said, so I asked inward what I knew about love
And I didn’t know much
But one thing I know for sure
Is that silk sheets hold no candle to love’s arms
When he wraps me in the warmth of a promise infinite
