We Are Humans Too....

Happy family were they,

Noel ran a small cafe, 

Dreams of becoming rich,

Was eating into him inch by inch. 

Years went by,

He noticed himself cry, 

A feeling of being trapped,

In a woman's body to be apt.

After dark, his deep urges came to light,

Donning satin gowns, heels and earrings were his delight, 

Feeling feminine gave him a high, 

But to whom could he confide. 

He mustered courage and told his wife, 

She was shocked and the matter ended in a strife, 

She left him without second thoughts, 

How was he to live disturbed him a lot. 

He decided to live the life of a woman, 

He was ridiculed and shunned by everyone, 

His father felt ashamed to call him his own son, 

He felt his own world come crashing down. 

He left his home to start a new journey, 

He met people of his clan who accepted him wholeheartedly, 

The term, 'Transgender' he called himself proudly. 

Slowly and steadily his wife became 'her' best friend, 

She accepted the transition from Noel to 'Amanda', 

Their daughter still called him daddy, 

Though she always asked him, 'why do you dress like mommy?!' 

Amanda was relieved, 

And breathed a sigh of relief, 

Thinking atleast her close people didn't leave her alone to grieve. 

At times when 'she' would sometimes cry, 

The only person who would wipe her tears dry, 

Was her mother who would hug her tightly and reply, 

'You're my child and no matter what I will always love you till the day I die'.
