Changes Are Inevitable...

Changes Are Inevitable...

Yesterday I had a dream,

Visited a place so familiar to me,

But walked around in circles feeling eerily,

In place of small houses now stood buildings majestically,

Trees were nowhere to be seen,

Only hoardings, neon lights and vehicles that honked away so annoyingly.

People walked like expressionless mannequins,

Glad to have seen some children that smiled like cute munchkins,

Asked people for directions but they were quite mea

n,

Finally sat on a bench thinking quite literally,

Why and what made my city change so drastically,

Where is that innocence that seemed so heavenly,

Where are those people who cared and loved so affectionately.

I got up to leave and my mind explained to me silently,

If cities can change then why blame humans with declining humanity,

Accept it as it is and that you're a nobody,

This is the truth and harsh reality.
