Unconditional Love
Unconditional Love
Mother, Oh Mother!!
You were there to soothe the balm on my each and every burn,
Taught me how to walk, taught me how to earn,
Never let me take the wrong turn,
What have I done to receive such love, such devotion without giving anything in return?
You let me enjoy when you suffered,
When others doubted me, your faith in me always remained intact.
You brought us royal linen, but yourself lived in rags,
Kept us safe from societal fangs.
Why oh mother, what have I done to receive such affection?
I hope you know I love you as well,
I promise to always walk beside you,
Rubies and diamonds aren't enough,
To substitute this never ending unconditional love.
