Trial by combat...

A lesson learned by bridges burned

Now my life's devoid of contact

A stinging sweat drips along these wounds as I rot within my lonely tomb

The pain is all that accompanies me within my lonely solitude

A heart in despair breaks the silence of this deafened acoustrall plain

I cry out for her but I doubt she's listening all the same

It is though I never existed and she's already forgotten my name

These battles waged for glory end in shame

For once again I have been conquered by love, fooled by a pretty face and lovely frame

She made a mess of me

Used up what was left of me

and laid to rest the best of me

I've pleaded my case, presented the evidence

Fought till my cause was no longer relevant

The jury found me "Guilty" when she should've been on trial

Convinced by her sweet nature and impeccable smile

Manipulated me into taking blame for our demise

You had the nerve to lie, sneak and cheat then look me in my eyes, tell me you love me and would for the rest of our lives

Trial by combat...

The sentence is death and she gets to swing the axe

Behead the head of the heart and love is left for dead

No resurrections this time for my love has reached it's climactic end
