To Thine Own Self Be True
To Thine Own Self Be True
To thine own self be true;
A ruse you must not pursue.
Indulge in lies, you shan’t,
Living in ignorance, you can’t.
Fools are those who say ignorance is bliss,
It lies down in Satan’s dark abyss.
Lying to self is lying to soul,
Why to eat yourself up inside whole?
Honestly to self cometh before honestly to God,
Lest the world may call you a fraud.
Thine mind may cause thoughts malicious,
Don’t succumb, be valorous and veracious.
Deceptions are a weak man’s play,
Valiant are those who do not betray.
To thine own self be true;
With this, I now bid thee adieu.
