Those Blessed Moments
Those Blessed Moments
Every once in a while
I am shrouded by fear of dense midnight
I look up and fervently wish
Gleam and glitter-filled the sight
And wonder often
If I could hold backflow of time
That I reminisce and cherish
Not the mere seconds and minutes
But remnants of the excitement of my child
Her starry eyes... Filled with nibbles of prodding
The naughty smile playing pranks in the street
Spilling secrets of the household
Inviting the wrath of both young and old
Where art thou!
Precious whiles?
Bring back those blessed moments for me
I am through tough roads and fields
Full of lifeless and poignant stories
The saddest song of my life plays its tune
Compelling me to keep mum
Carry on with wet eyes
The deep red mid sky
Just before nightfall
Loathes me for the blunder
Had I been a little responsive
I could have averted the ultimate
My baby crushed to pieces
Right before my eyes!
How can I forgive myself for the rest of my life!
Once in a while
When the night gets denser
The universe slips into a blanket of slumber
Someone calls my name in a sweet voice...
"O mama!"
"look up and find me playing with companions!!!"
