ADITYAROOP PATHAK

Tragedy

Then And Now

Then And Now

Through the unconscious spells

That the heart begrudgingly sailed

Feeling nothing and suddenly felt

Exuberant like resurrected tidal waves

I woke up from a nightmare.

Of a shattered dream on the bloody street

Pumped into the eyes that couldn’t sight

Courtesy of the smoke flaming inside

How cold it could get here behind

The hours that time had left

And I bereft of the warmth of her palms

Longing for longer than I must

With the continuum of skepticism

That lies within me

In infinite thrust of dark and light

Wondering how much of it must I trust?
