Corona
Corona
Crestfallen to reckon
When both the physician and the patient lie in one bed
And wait for death
I dash my head on the wall of time
And cry and plead-
O Time! do tell me
Where is my future
When the present is not with me
When I am scared and run for life
Where do I find a solution -
In run,
In isolation,
Or in unison?
As the day has turned insane
And moves around
Like a killer fleeing from the prison ground
I escape from my neighbour
And from my kith and kin
Who shout and scream
To live in quarantine
Though there is no terrorism,
No blast or of the nuclear scare
But for a faceless,
Invisible killer-
That emerges from everywhere
Horribly terrible,
Gruesome,
And fatal,
More fatal than the world war
She has donned her second-self
And her anger like bonfire permeates
To unleash fright and death
When her patience has run out
To elbow out my earthly position
And frown at
My immatured science
And feeble materialistic gain
By wielding her trump card-
The deadly Corona outbreak
After a tremor, a tsunami or Fani's wreck
As I grew too selfish
By pampering my childish boastings
I misread
And forgot to worship
When she was all kind
And provided me, all health to grow
Instead of fulfilling her wish
I grew to ravish-
Her beauty
Her modesty and love
Leaving on her a permanent stain
To test her calmness in shame
She is in everything
And in every being
She is the benefactor
And an annihilator, too
Can liberate
Or murder, too
Now,
I have to pick a choice
To treat her according-
To survive
Or lie lifeless in her lap
Where she once lulled me.
