Something More
Something More
May be just may be it wasn't love
In the traditional sense
Just stolen glances in the corridors
In the pathway to Jhelum
Just the eyes speaking to the heart
Of all the unspoken words
That could've been said while
The fingers touched each other
Laughing a little too much
At childhood trauma and her weird ways
It was just feeling giddy at every embrace
Pausing, begging for that extra second
It was just excitement to walk side by side
Talking life and its inevitable struggles
The bulwark we build against people
But in diametrically opposite ways
May be it was just desire to sit
By her side and absorb the presence
Of something that could've been magical
Yet stayed mysterious
May be it wasn't love; just longing
To be loved and not broken again
