Their Last Hug
Their Last Hug
The pain of a lost love,
Fantasies gone in vain,
Dreams turned to a horrific nightmare,
When the melancholy gazed her with ferocious glare!
Sitting on the back seat of his bullet,
She knew they no more made a perfect couplet.
Neither did he ask her to hold him tight,
Nor he had an intent to unravel the fight!
This was their valedictory meeting,
Asserting for no future greeting,
As their relationship had ended,
Leaving each other’s souls blue and suspended!
For that one last time,
Remembering all their days of cloud nine,
She hugged him from back with sheer stiffness,
Mewling in the agony of their impending distance!
Reposing her head daintily on his scapula,
She could extract that sensuous scent from his pullover’s taffeta.
Yearning for a single nudge of his hands on her fingers,
She knew their souls would no longer stick together to linger!
As the parting destination neared for their severance,
No words could roll down to her lips for utterance!
That evening even traffic signals danced on her tunes,
All of that was happening once in a blue moon!
In a trice, she felt a pat on her head,
Flinched, she threw the blanket and bounced on her bed.
‘’Ohh that was just a night terror’’, she rejoiced,
Waking up from her sleep with immense delight.
Gave her man a cuddle dipped in love and snug,
She sighed for this not being their last hug!
