Goodbyes Aren’t Forever
Goodbyes Aren’t Forever
At the airport as we stood
Waiting for the flight to arrive,
No more butterflies I could feel churning
But only the heart weeping and yearning!
And then somehow controlling my tears
From not revealing the truth,
I dared looking into his eyes
Which too seemed defying the cries!
He came to see me off
Yet dint want me to leave.
And I, I standing there in calm
Knew about the vigorous storms and sweat in my palm!
Every minute seemed like a second
Flying away in wild, out of control.
Intensifying my craving to stay more
As I hugged him tighter before leaving the door!
Yet, no options were in the wallet
Cause fate had its special games.
For different cities were our home
And the only constant connect was the phone!
But then he’s been a keeper all this while
Visiting my city every month,
Just to have that one single smile
Which made him travel even a mile!
You see, that’s the reason they say
Long distance relationships are hard to retain.
But only when the love is freaking strong
The huge kilometres seem to have some consoling charm.
For the heart knows, goodbyes aren’t forever
'Cause you’ll meet again, maybe sooner or later!
