THE WAITING

 

She changed the sheets on the bed

Lest the kids can roll on the fresh sheet

She polished the sink until it shined

The kids should not feel it not so good

She made some sweets and spicy too

All that can make the kids enjoy

Kept the craft’s thing ready for their reach

The knife, the scissors, the paint and gum

She looked at the clock repeatedly

Time ticked on, but the bell did not ring

The phone call came-- his son said

Sorry, Mama, we can’t come, urgent work

Sadly her eyes looked at arranged things.

She removed the craft, the sweets and others

Now she will start waiting for the next six days
