Inner Voice

An inner voice in you whispers all day,

Why does your heart so heavily weigh?

Why are you feeling suffocated? Why are you gasping for air?

You have done your best, but not everything is fair.

Was your decision wise? Was that expected out of you?

Did you do right or did you just blew?

On such questions, it is unnecessary for you to ponder, 

Arbitrarily don't let your mind unjustly wander.

Life will always put you across in situations unknown,

Rise above those and humbly make them your own.

Let them bother you less, carry your scars gracefully, 

Life will surprise you less if you start living frugally.

Don't wait for validations, you are not here to maintain any status quo,

There will never be anything to anyone that you owe.

All that ever needs to be done is for self and those who brought you to life,

The day you sway from your priorities, you'll be butchered slowly by a knife.

Never dishearten when a feeling arise of being almost there, but not quite,

Embrace the inner voice, it will guide you right.

Breathe, breathe, breathe, let your soul get some rest,

Just go out there, do whatever you can do best,

And it may happen that your best doesn't turn out to be good,

Things don't turn out as you hoped they would.

Don't allow guilt to drop you to your knees, rather be glad,

As today, you gave it all, all that you had.
