The Victory Song
The Victory Song
Dissuade me from my path,
And I shall take even longer strides,
On the same path, to reach
The same goal, which I had planned
For me, which I had seen
For me.
Discourage me from my aspiration,
And I shall strive even more,
To drive my conscience onto,
A thirsty quest to quench my being
With its rightful dreams.
Speak ill of me, malign myself,
And I shall pay no heed,
To any of your scruples, for I know myself
And I do not feel the need to explain,
The person I am, for I know,
Time shall prove it.
Spew your hatred on me,
And I shall only shower,
The love in my heart on you, just like
I would shower it on all,
For you might want to darken your heart,
Hating me, but, I had never intended
Or shall never intend to,
Taint my heart, paint it,
In a darker shade.
And if you still persist, after all of what
You have had wished to do,
Stay there, by the horizon,
For that's where I plan to be,
To listen to you,
Applauding for me.
