The Unsung Hero
The Unsung Hero
A daughter is always a "Papa ki Pari"...
But I had been a Mommy's girl...
Having lost my father at an early age, I know very little about him...
Whatever my Mom used to tell about him...
He was indeed a stellar example of an excellent father...
A perfect mix of love and responsibility...
A question always crosses my mind...
What if.... my father would have been alive...
How much he would have loved me?
And how different my life would have been?
And I thought!!!
To descry a Father...
Through the lens of a Child...
Spiderman...
Superman...
Or He-man...
Spiderman, Superman, or He-man...
Stand nowhere in front of this superhero...
An iron man with a golden heart...
A heart that appears harder, but softer from within...
He is like a mountain---that shields me...
He is like a sea--- full of love for me...
He is there-- so I feel protected...
He is there--- so all my needs are met...
He is there--- so I can think of happiness...
He is there--- so all the goodies in the market are mine...
He works incessantly, yet never boasts...
He loves his children a lot and makes every provision of life possible, yet he never brags...
His wallet is no smaller than the World Bank...
To fulfill our forever wish-list...
He feels proud of my triumphs...
But never displays...
Maybe he isn't good at it or he wants to refine me more...
He condemns me when I am at fault, just to correct my shortcomings...
He is the embodiment of strength, support, and courage...
He always holds me when I stumble...
He boosts me when I lack confidence...
And makes me ready to face challenges...
Though his eyes and voice are sterns...
He has a heart full of love and concern...
He holds back his love I doubt...
Just to make himself more commanding...
Or else he would be an easy-going and modest being...
No one can ever imagine the pain flaring up in his heart...
When he tries to act harshly...
A mother's love is often spoken...
But a father is always forgotten...
HERO WITHOUT A CAPE
DAD
Let us salute this unsung and unpraised hero...
Daddy, Dad or Dadda...
Abbu, Abba or Baba...
Pitaji, Bapuji or Appa...
Nanna, Peo or Pappa...
The way one may call him...
The sweet soul remains the same ...
He is the true hero...
Excellently playing the role of a father...
Teaching responsibility, accountability, and the importance of hard work...
I tried my best...
But it's not done...
If I were to write a story...
It could be the biggest ever written...
Still...
Words can't describe...
What a father means to a child...
And Dad, although you are no longer alive...
I want you to know how much I love you...
And how lucky I feel to have you in my life...
And how desperately I miss you Dad...
And this one...
The voice of my heart...
I dedicate as an...
"ODE TO MY DAD"
"I LOVE YOU, DADDY "
