The Shackles of Pretended Love

The Shackles of Pretended Love

Why do some fear to walk away !!!

When love has crumbled into decay ?

Dreams lie shattered, scattered on the floor,

And the heart is battered, bruised to the core.

They wield their words like daggers sharp,

Exploit your fears, play every part.

They crush your spirit, drain your fight,

Strip away your day, torment your night.

Yet, they cling to the guise of marital grace,

For the sake of a reputation they desperately chase.

If thei

r problems run deep, why refuse to depart?

Why bind a soul to a loveless heart?

Is it just for the show, the façade they maintain,

While inflicting wounds and prolonging the pain?

Is pride worth more than a life torn asunder,

Or the truth drowned out by fear’s thunder?

Let them go, these illusions they keep,

For freedom is found where endings seep.

Release the chains and let mercy call,

For not all who wander are lost after all.
