Ephemeral Illusions
Ephemeral Illusions

In fleeting smiles and posts, we chase the light,
A happiness that glitters for the crowd,
Yet fades away when day gives way to night,
A fleeting joy, as false as it is loud.
A bubble in the breeze, it floats on high,
Reflecting rainbows in its fragile skin,
But bursts when touched, revealing but a sigh,
Its beauty gone as quick as it begins.
A mirage in the desert’s shifting sands,
It beckons with a promise pure and sweet,
Yet vanishes when reached with outstretched hands,
A cruel trick beneath the sun’s harsh heat.
True joy resides in moments soft and still,
Not in the show, but in the heart’s deep thrill.
