THE SENIOR CITIZENS
THE SENIOR CITIZENS
We all learned many stories, epics and life sciences,
Mathematics, computer science, psychology and arts
Gained enough knowledge for employment and living
You had a long service and retired from daily ordeals!
Body's tired, hobbies and interests are lost one by one
Walking is hard, balance poor, anxiety for silly reasons
Sensations reduced, appetite's poor, memory impaired
Reading, writing and your physical efforts all affected?
You get confused, your sensory organs are slowly failing
Eye sight's poor, hearing impaired, mouth dry, teeth falling
Smell is erratic, taste altered, throat croaky, voice muffled
You may feel lonely; partner or friends are dead or poorly?
Worrying about illness and disability you become a cynic
Losing tempers and patience you worry yourself too much!
You're often hurting people for no good reason or purpose
The people avoid you as they're busy with their own lives.
You must come to terms with aging; try to live normal life,
Think about pleasant memories and spend time as usual.
Listen to music, watch television or do meditation to relax.
Time and tide wait for none; health and wealth pass away?
When carers visit you express gratitude offering small gifts.
Don't bother much, try to be friendly and thank for their help
Be nice to people closer to you and keep them all in contact,
Sharing jokes with kith and kin and enjoy rest of your life?
LONG LIFE! GOOD HEALTH! BE HAPPY!
