THE SANDS OF TIME

Where, I was once known for my presence, my shadow cannot be seen today.

Where, I was once, the sparkle of a festivity, my voice remains unheard today.

Such a great distance has built up;

The void - it has grown so much;

It cannot be filled now, no matter how much I try to repair it.

So deep have the tender feelings gone lost under the sands of time,

That, the flowers of my affection fail to rekindle it.

Oh, my dreams, my feelings! That were once alive, now long to re-live,

But fear that they might once more perish at the cruel hands of time.

The stories that are lost,

May not be written back in their original frame of life.

But I wish to add a new page to those tales,

And revive them with a new spark of life;

I want to give a new turn to them, bestowing onto them a pleasant ending,

If perchance on the new pages, the essence of those stories survives.

A change if brought in, will expel the sorrowful thoughts,

And make me victorious against all odds;

Overcoming my pain,

I will stand up again,

With a will to win against the dreary sands of time.

With a desire to live and dream - a dream so sublime.
