THE ROUSING PARADE

The glorious nation is an epitome of rich culture,

as I bow down to her splendorous heritage,

possessing monuments, temples and buildings.

Bhaarat as she is fondly addressed,

she is the divine symbol of love and affection.

India is a democratic republic,

all the citizens are equal in her eyes.

She bestows the citizens with freedom and rights,

unity of the citizens is her prized possession.

Justice, liberty and fraternity are upheld, 

as she grants equality to the citizens

on all grounds; social, economic and political.

26th January 1950;the day when Mother India became a republic,

commemorated by holding a parade every year,

headed by the honourable President,

the national flag is unfurled,

relentless sacrifices of the martyrs are cherished,

the army personnel march past the Red Fort,

the diverse cultures are represented.

A sense of patriotism is unveiled

when the national anthem is being sung,

one realises the pride in being an Indian citizen.
