The 'Real' Reality
The 'Real' Reality
I wonder what reality must feel like,
Because what we perceive as reality
is only known to us.
It only makes sense to us,
as individuals.
And in fact,
it is all inside our heads.
Every one of us,
have our own delineation of reality -
What it is like,
And what we want it to be.
And it is when these two don't match,
What we perceive isn't
what we thought we would,
are the times we describe as dilemma.
How else do you think we define a person as "good"?
While the very same person
Maybe a complete devil for someone else;
And again, both of us are correct.
Aren't we all merely just actors?
Acting in our own plays,
and that of millions of others'
Each one, a different role,
changing every moment, as situation demands
all at the same time!
Think of the constant conflict a mother faces
when she finds out her son is a criminal.
Her reality says it is her beloved son,
but what she perceives is far from her reality,
A reality, she doesn't want.
These are the times when we go in
to
A devastating battle with ourselves -
hard to decide, which role to play
and change the scripts of our reality.
Because after all,
the world isn't composed of the good and the evil
Each one of us have both inside us.
It's which part we choose to act upon
That matters!
So none of us know what reality is.
Everyone has their own variation to it,
And each one of them is true,
Because at the end of the day
It's what is inside your head that counts.
Perhaps that is why
Fathoming others' realities is so vital.
Trying to discern other's perspectives,
Trying to understand their scripts in the play
In our play, and theirs.
This increases the dimension of what we know
And what we don't
About reality.
And perhaps, in turn, brings us closer
To the 'real' reality.
Do you feel like these lines
are vague, and abstract?
That exactly, my friend, is the thin line
Between your reality and mine.
Perhaps vague and abstract are the only words
That can describe reality to its closest essence.
